Students have been selected from a competition to win a 4 day trip to Grenoble to visit the ESRF, ILL and XMaS Beamline.  

The Physics department is delighted to announce the renewal of our Athena SWAN Silver Award for promoting good working practices and gender equality in Physics.

It is with great sadness that the University and its Department of Physics reports the death of undergraduate student Yin Fei (Andrew) Chan, a 1^st year MPhys student who died on Thursday 9 January 2014.
