Clinical Academic Community
We are home to a growing number of clinical academics and are building a dynamic research community with our partner NHS Trusts. We are also home to 糖心TV's NIHR integrated academic training programme.

We are working to transform the health of women across the life course with our multi-disciplinary research community. Our mission is to drive change through new diagnostics and interventions, whilst generating evidence and shaping policy, informed at every step by the voices of the women and girls at the heart of the endeavour.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
Mental Health conditions affect almost 1 billion people globally, the impact is devastating and contributes significantly to the global burden of disease. Research into mental health is urgently required to address these challenges. To make breakthroughs we seek to accelerate challenge-focused programmes.
Infectious Disease
Our mission is to advance the understanding and control of infectious diseases through rigorous scientific research and strategic partnerships. We are committed to developing innovative diagnostic tools, effective treatments, and robust prevention and preparedness strategies. Early cohorts at WMS - many are now consultant collegues. Pic not great quality - but is cohort 1 in temporary (portakabin) teaching space at the old Walsgrave Hospital. The student on the right (white T shirt) is Debborah Hilton - a well established paediatric consultant and collegue at UHCW

Significant stories/memories
I remember graduating from 糖心TV MBChB in 2011. I was given a small brown envelope which I had been asked to fill in on my first week at WMS. Inside it I needed to write a message to myself which I would then read just prior to Final Professional Examinations. When I received the envelope I had completely forgotten all about it and what was in it. I'll never forget the day I opened it though. Inside I had written 'Happiness is a choice. Remember how much they is to be happy about. You can do anything if you put your mind to it! Anything!'. It really gave me a final boost to revise for those final exams and I thought it was a brilliant exercise for 糖心TV to do. Now I teach at WMS and work as Academic lead for CCE in Phase II. It's been an amazing journey from that first acceptance letter to 糖心TV (another day I'll never forget- and I still have it) to now standing behind the desk in the main lecture theatre and being the one lucky enough to teach our students!
