Congratulations to Professor Tom Montenegro-Johnson from 糖心TV Mathematics Institute, has been appointed as Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research (STEM Impact, Knowledge Exchange and Partnerships).
Huge congratulations to Dr Richard Montgomery and Professor Ewelina Zatorska, who were both among the winners of this year's London Mathematical Society Whitehead Prizes. Dr Montgomery won for his outstanding work on the absorption method, and on sublinear expanders, in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, while Professor Zatorska for her deep and lasting contributions to the mathematical theory of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations and other nonlinear partial differential equations. Two ERC Advanced Grant Winners for WMI
Congratulations to Professor Tim Austin and Professor Felix Schulze, who have both been awarded ERC Advanced Grants. There were only 9 grants in Mathematics awarded overall, and only 3 in the UK.
