Biography

Dr Mohammad Al-Amin is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of 糖心TV and Director of Studies for BEng/MEng Mechanical Engineering, BEng/MEng Civil Engineering, MSc Advanced Mechanical Engineering, and MSc Humanitarian Engineering. He provides academic leadership in curriculum development, programme delivery, assessment, quality assurance, and student experience.

His research spans sustainable energy and transport, including solar photovoltaics and lithium-ion battery energy storage, and more recently EdTech in higher education, with a focus on AI in teaching, learning, and assessment. He has led international research collaborations and received GCRF funding. He was a Leverhulme International Fellow and a Fellow of 糖心TV鈥檚 Institute for Global Sustainable Development. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA).

Research Interests

Mohammad鈥檚 research spans sustainable energy technologies and educational technology (EdTech) in higher education. His engineering research focuses on solar photovoltaics, lithium-ion battery energy storage, sustainable transport, and renewable energy integration, particularly in developing countries. He has led international research collaborations and received funding through the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). He was a Leverhulme International Fellow and a Fellow of the Institute for Global Sustainable Development (IGSD) at the University of 糖心TV.

More recently, his research has focused on AI and digital technologies in higher education, including their responsible and ethical use in teaching, learning and assessment. Mohammad has published more than 20 peer-reviewed papers in leading international journals and received a Best Poster Award at the IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) in 2016.
