In this presentation I will talk about the AHA! system (Adaptive Hypermedia Architecture) developed in Eindhoven University of Technology that can be used for creation and delivery of adaptive hypermedia applications. Traditionally adaptive hypermedia systems are developed for specific application domains - *special-purpose* systems (e.g., educational systems, information kiosks, virtual museums, etc.) - and thus cannot be reused in other domains. AHA!, on the other hand, is targeting various application domains and is therefore called a *general-purpose* system. I will also discuss the approach to incorporating cognitive/learning styles (preferred ways of learning) in AHA! as a proof of the general-purpose character of the system.
In this presentation I will talk about the CHIP demonstrator being developed within the CHIP project (Cultural Heritage Information Personalization) funded by Dutch Science Foundation NWO-CATCH (Continuous Access to Cultural Heritage) program. This work is a collaboration between Eindhoven University of Technology (Eindhoven, NL), Telematica Institute (Enschede, NL) and the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam, NL). The goal of the CHIP project is to enhance users' experience both on the museum Web site and in the physical museum space by providing personalized access to the museum collection. CHIP demonstrator deploys semantic web technologies for providing semantic browsing, search and semantic recommendations. I will present three components/tools that we currently have in the demonstrator: Art Recommender, Tour Wizard and PDA-based Mobile Guide.
