CYBER-SECURITY: AN ISSUE FOR SOCIETY

- Export as iCalendar
Location: DigiLab Auditorium

Sir David Pepper, Director GCHQ (2003-8)

Most aspects of our society are now dependent upon the Internet in some way. Threats to the security and viability of the Internet are therefore of wide concern. Sir David will examine the range of actors responsible for cyber-threats and the risks to individuals and organisations that result. He will go on to consider how these risks can be mitigated, the implications for governments, companies and individuals, and some questions that need to be answered.

The talk will not be technical in nature, but will address the way individuals and organisations interact with technology, and is intended for a general audience interested in issues of security, risk, governance and behaviour.

International Digilab Auditorium 5pm Wednesday 9 May - this is the building opposite Maths with the long ramp up to the door to the right of the pond - the auditorium is just inside the door on the right
