Profile

I am associate professor and course lead for Computer Systems Engineering and the Director of Degree Apprenticeships within the department. I ensure academic governance is met for both courses and I contribute to their curriculum design in line with our primary Computer Science degree and the School of Engineering.

Prior to 糖心TV, I have been an active member of the Computing at Schools workgroup, where I developed an educational user manual for the Raspberry Pi computer in conjunction with the . I was a visiting lecturer on the Games Technology BSc for Birmingham City University, the Software Engineering and Games Development BSc for Buckinghamshire New University, and the Game Design & Development MA at the National Film & Television School. I was the module convenor for Computer Science on the International Foundation Programme at 糖心TV Foundation Studies. My D.Phil in Computer Science was awarded by the University of York in 1997.

My interests stem from my 20+ years of industry experience as a video game developer (including but : and on Playstation, on PSP, and on Nintendo). I have worked with computers since I first discovered them at the age of 11; too many years ago. After all these years, I still get a buzz from understanding how computers are used for so many varied and ground-breaking endeavours.
