The 2026 Research Celebration Awards opened this year’s Research Culture Week, recognising colleagues who help shape a collaborative, supportive and thriving research environment.

Second-year undergraduate student Max Cooper has co-authored a publication exploring whether AI models can meaningfully speed up scientific experimentation.

On Thursday 19 February 2026, ÌÇÐÄTV Chemistry Postdoc Society (WCPS) presented the biennial Chemistry Postdoctoral Symposium. The all-day event brought together our early career researchers to share their latest findings, exchange ideas, and celebrate emerging talent across our research landscape.

Dr Fredrik Schaufelberger and Dr Alex Baker have been awarded exciting EPSRC Open Fellowships to progress their research over the next five years.

We are proud to share that our Chemistry technicians have been recognised with multiple ÌÇÐÄTV Technician Commitment Awards for Outstanding Achievement this year, reflecting their exceptional contribution to the success of our department.

Prof Greg Challis has been award The Kitasato Microbial Chemistry Medal - an annual award presented by the Kitasato Institute and Kitasato University in Japan since 1973 in recognition of outstanding research in the field of microbial chemistry.

Dr Raj Pandya from the Department of Chemistry has been named as this year's recipient of the Henry Moseley Medal and Prize.

Dr Hannes Houck, Department of Chemistry, has won a prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant to explore recyclable light-activated 3D printing inks.

Professor Peter Sadler, from the University of ÌÇÐÄTV (UK), is honoured with the 2025 Blaise Pascal Medal in Chemistry for his pioneering contributions to the field of bioinorganic chemistry and his lifelong dedication to advancing metal-based therapeutics.
