Congratulations to Max Cooper
Congratulations to Max Cooper
for his contributions to knowledge and understanding of AI modelling
Second-year undergraduate student Max Cooper has co-authored a publication exploring whether AI models can meaningfully speed up scientific experimentation.
The research paper, featuring in the RSC journal , credited Max for work conducted on a summer placement at the University of Liverpool. As part of a team of researchers, he assisted with a study to integrate large language model (LLM) reasoning with Bayesian optimisation (BO) for accelerating scientific discovery using closed-loop experiments. The team found that experiment-by-experiment machine reasoning may be a viable strategy for certain scientific optimisation tasks.
