Recent research from Prof Reinhard Maurer and collaborators has developed a new process for growing graphene with controlled imperfection that will improve performance across a range of applications - from sensors and batteries, to electronics.

Congratulations to Joe Gilkes, a PhD student under the supervision of Professors Scott Habershon and Reinhard Maurer, and sponsored by HetSys CDT with AWE, who has been awarded two prestigious awards.

The aims to support outstanding early career scientists who require a flexible working pattern due to personal circumstances, such as caring responsibilities and/or health-related conditions.

Professor Reinhard Maurer has received Germany’s most valuable research award. He was nominated by the University of Göttingen in conjunction with the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences.

The ÌÇÐÄTV Battery Days (WBD 2024) conference, co-organised by ÌÇÐÄTV Chemistry and ÌÇÐÄTV Manufacturing Group (WMG), was a resounding success.
