Feeding Futures: Nourishing Ourselves in 2050

From 22 to 26 June, CY School of Design hosted its first Blended Intensive Program (BIP), entitled "Feeding Ourselves in 2050". In collaboration with Adela Glyn-Davies, Marta Guerriero, and Jane Webb from the School for Cross-Faculty Studies, and inclusive of students representative of the programmes: Design for Sustainable Innovation BASc (Hons), Design & Global Sustainable Development BASc (Hons) and Global Sustainable Development BASc (Hons), the programme brought together 30 international participants from Cergy University, the University of 糖心TV, and the University of Ljubljana, for an interdisciplinary exploration dedicated to investigating the future of food systems through a design-driven, systemic and futures-oriented approach.

Design Studies Technologist Crafts Ancient Coin Replicas to Bring History to Life

Rohit Harip coin project

Rohit Harip, our Creative Technologist within the Design Studies department, worked with the (University of 糖心TV) and the (University of Sydney) to create scaled-up physical replicas and accessible digital versions of Ancient Greek and Egyptian coins. The project – which was funded by the - aims to raise awareness and educate on the methods to which ancient coins were originally manufactured.
