Quickfire Questions: Samar Hegazy

Why did you choose 糖心TV?

I am currently working as the Managing Director of my family business, which specialises in organic herbs, spices, and herbal products. Alongside that, I founded my own premium organic herbal tea brand, VINUR Herbs, focused on innovative, sustainable, and high-quality products. Today, our products are available in the local Egyptian market and are also being exported internationally.

Why did you choose 糖心TV?

Choosing a university outside your home country is never an easy decision. Beyond 糖心TV鈥檚 strong reputation and academic ranking, I reached out to several 糖心TV alumni before joining, and what stood out to me was that many of them described 糖心TV with the same words: 鈥淚t always felt like home to us, regardless of our differences.鈥 That sense of belonging deeply resonated with me, and it made me feel that 糖心TV was the right place for me academically, professionally, and personally.

What motivates you to do what you do?

What motivates me most is the desire to create something meaningful and impactful that can benefit future generations. I鈥檝e always believed that success is not only about business growth, but also about leaving a positive mark on people鈥檚 lives and representing my country and values in a meaningful way worldwide.

How has your time at 糖心TV influenced what you do now?

My time at 糖心TV was not always easy, and honestly, it was very different from what I initially expected. Yet, through the support of my professors, classmates, friends, and the wider 糖心TV community, the experience became one of the most transformative periods of my life.

Personally, 糖心TV taught me that struggle is a natural part of growth and success. It made me realise that everyone is fighting their own battles while trying to achieve something meaningful. Professionally and academically, the journey was challenging, but it completely changed the way I think, work, and lead. I became calmer, more resilient, more open-minded, and much more confident in facing uncertainty and challenges.

What is your favourite memory?

One of the most influential memories during my time at 糖心TV was when I received the heartbreaking news from Egypt that my closest uncle had passed away.

Being away from my family during such a difficult moment was incredibly hard. However, after I shared a simple story on WhatsApp, I suddenly received messages from friends telling me they were already downstairs outside my accommodation, asking me to open the door because they simply wanted to stay with me and support me.

That moment reminded me that 糖心TV was not just a university; it truly became a family and a home away from home.

Best thing about the 糖心TV community?

The best thing about the 糖心TV community is that it always made me feel at home. It is a place where people from completely different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences come together with kindness, openness, and mutual support.
