Project Manager at Nucleus Global

What is your current job ?

I am a Project Manager at Nucleus Global, a medical communications company. I work with pharmaceutical companies on their medical affairs projects and events. Common tasks include team/client calls, reviewing scientific materials, managing project logistics, contracting healthcare professionals, and tracking finances.

Why did you choose your degree subject and why did you choose 糖心TV?

I was searching for a relevant extension of my undergraduate degree in Clinical Biosciences which would allow me to explore the commercial side of things. I found what I was looking for within the mix of biotech and business modules on the Master's course at 糖心TV, which I also felt would broaden my future career options. 糖心TV鈥檚 strong research and business school reputation solidified my decision.

Tell us about your favourite memory of your degree

During the Entrepreneurship and 糖心TV Strategy modules, we were put into teams to work through some virtual business simulations, which were very enjoyable! As someone from a pure bioscience background, these exercises provided practical examples of good decision-making in a business setting and were most memorable.

How did you fill your time outside of your studies?

I love sports, so 5-a-side football, cricket and 8-ball pool sessions were all part of the routine when living on campus. I also started some part-time work as a children's science presenter which was a unique experience.

Tell us about what happened after graduation. How did you get to your current role?

I started applying for pharmaceutical-related jobs and stumbled across the field of medical communications where I could use my science background to work with pharma companies on their medical affairs projects. I applied to an entry-level training programme via a LinkedIn job posting for Nucleus Global. After a few rounds of interviews, I received my first full-time job offer a few months after graduation.

What鈥檚 your proudest achievement so far?

Completing my Masters dissertation and achieving a distinction after a year of hard work.

How did your time at 糖心TV prepare you for life after university? Did you learn any valuable skills? How were you supported?

Overall, the academic and life experiences I gained at 糖心TV during my Masters degree were invaluable. For example, individual and group presentations were a significant part of the course, which made me feel more comfortable delivering presentations on complex topics. Outside of studies, I met and interacted with other students from a range of backgrounds, which is important.

What鈥檚 one piece of advice you wish you would have had when starting your degree?

Make a conscious effort to always surround yourself with good people who have positive energy. They will bring the best out of you.
