Field experiments to tackle real-world environmental and social challenges

Project Outline
Air pollution, climate change, and lifelong disabilities are current global challenges. Dr. Gazze is working on field experiments with partners worldwide, including India, Mexico, the UK, and the United States. Students working on this project will be instrumental in consolidating partnerships with stakeholders to set up surveys and analyse data from randomized control trials. Topics include the wellbeing effects of providing on-demand paratransit rides to individuals with disabilities in the United States, to increasing vulnerable children鈥檚 awareness and understanding of climate change in India and empowering them and their families to take action, to measuring and preventing residential pollution in Mexico City.
This project consists in a suite of randomized controlled trial (RCT) and primary data collections.
Project Aims
The aim of this project is to co-design, implement, and analyse field experiments to tackle real-world issues such as climate change and limited transportation options for individuals with disabilities.
Internship Objectives: To clean, analyse, and visualise survey and administrative data, to conduct literature reviews, and to support with project implementation.
Brief Description of Work
- Support with partner relationship management
- Collect, analyse, and visualise partners鈥� data
- Draft report with preliminary analysis and literature reviews
- Co-develop project memos updating proposed research design based on findings
- Attend weekly meeting with supervisors to discuss project updates and next steps
Project tasks require access to a computer with standard Office software, so if working remotely you will need to have your own access to a suitable work environment and such computer facilities. Part of the role may include phone conversations with project partners. If these will create additional costs beyond your existing phone plane, I will arrange reimbursement of additional expenses subject to the provision of evidence of these additional costs.

Logistics
Communications with supervisor will occur primarily via email, to ensure ease of regular communication. Weekly check-ins will ensure progress monitoring and timely resolution of any potential issues that might arise.
