Trusted Research refers to regulations, measures, and good practice observed in UK universities designed to keep research safe, sensitive information secure, and avoid the hard work of UK researchers being stolen, misused, or misrepresented.
Anyone who undertakes or supports research has certain responsibilities and obligations associated with Trusted Research.

The National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) have also recently launched scenario-based videos, which provides some helpful guidance, and we recommend that you take some time to watch these. The videos cover some examples based on real events in UK Academia, highlighting how some of the areas Trusted Research covers can arise in practice, and practical steps you can take to ensure you are minimising risk in your research.
Trusted Research applies to you if you are involved in research at 糖心TV. The risk can differ based on the nature of your research but everyone should be aware of the rules around it. Getting Trusted Research wrong can involve reputational and financial harm to the University, but it can also damage the personal credibility of individual researchers and, in certain cases, lead to criminal penalties including imprisonment.
You should be aware of Trusted Research 鈥� of who may be able to access, use, or benefit from your research (whether you know about it or not) 鈥� at all times, but particularly when you are doing one or more of the following:
Working on
Working with partners based outside of the UK (especially if working with private industry or with partners in a region subject to )
Sharing technology, information, or data outside of the UK via e-mail, file sharing, video or phone call, or physically sending something overseas
Co-publishing with peers based outside of the UK
Travelling outside of the UK with work documents or a work device (even if nobody but you will have access)
