A Research Culture Committee has been established to lead a series of projects that will make an important contribution to the University鈥檚 research culture going forward.

These will include the formation of a new programme of researcher development, and a series of researcher and technician workshops around the themes of: 鈥楽upporting early career researchers through and post the COVID-19 pandemic鈥�, 鈥楻efining the concept of research leadership鈥�, and 鈥樚切腡V鈥檚 research values鈥�, that will inform future internal developments in each of these areas. 

The Committee will also share and celebrate examples of best practice in research culture from across the University, and help to develop new approaches to researcher training and development, as part of the University鈥檚 鈥楬R Excellence in Research鈥� re-accreditation.

This will result in a new approach to researcher induction, and the relaunching of a research development programme from 2021 onwards.

The Chair of the Research Culture Committee is Professor Matt Nudds (Vice Provost and Chair of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
