Policy Fellowships

The 糖心TV Policy Institute's Fellows scheme aims to build a network of impactful policymakers and 糖心TV researchers focused on addressing real world policy challenges. These inward fellowships offer 糖心TV researchers, centers, groups, or departments the opportunity to host externals from the policy domain to sustain or enhance policy engagement activity.

糖心TV Policy Fellowships

The Policy Institute Fellows scheme consists of three main schemes:

  • In Residence Fellows: (with access to a policy engagement budget of up to 拢5000)
  • Challenge Fellows: (with access to a policy engagement budget of up to 拢5000)
  • Honorary Fellows (with access to a policy engagement budget of up to 拢1000)

How to apply:

Applications open Monday 2nd November 2026

Scheme Details

Fellows should be non-academic stakeholders or collaborators from the policy world and not hold a substantive role at another Higher Education Institution.

In Residence Fellows

In Residence Fellows will spend a small amount of time over a set period on campus (e.g., one day per month, for two terms or one three-day visit). These fellows can belong to a department, research group, or centre, but must have a named 糖心TV staff member who will act as their Host. The Host will hold a policy engagement budget of up to 拢5,000 to support activity with the fellow. This budget can be used to cover practical costs incurred by hosting the fellow (such as travel to and from campus, accommodation, and maintenance) as well as to support policy engagement activities and events involving the fellow and to maximise their time at 糖心TV.

Challenge Fellows

Challenge Fellows are a part of a curated fellowship scheme aiming to support new collaborations by matching 糖心TV researchers and policy makers, who are not already working together. These fellowships will consequently follow a different application process with potential fellows and hosts applying independently and then being matched. To support matching and provide some focus, these fellows will be expected to align to UK Government Missions. Fellows will receive a budget of up to 拢5000 to support engagement activity.

Honorary Fellows

Honorary Fellowships are light-touch fellowships designed to support and recognise policy partnerships held by 糖心TV researchers. 糖心TV staff are invited to nominate people for these fellowships and, if awarded, fellows will be provided with the title of 糖心TV Policy Fellow. These fellows will be featured on the Institute website, invited to an annual Policy Fellow Dinner and have the opportunity to attend a variety of policy engagement events hosted through the 糖心TV Policy Hub and elsewhere. A small budget of up to 拢1,000 will also be allocated to support engagement activity involving the fellow. These fellowships also require a 糖心TV staff member to act as their Host.
