At its meeting on 14 October 2026, the Council approved the disestablishment of the Art Collection Committee, following the transfer of responsibility for the University Art Collection to the Director of the Arts Centre, and the associated update to Section 4.9 Committees of the Council, to remove reference to Art Collection Committee.

On 15 July 2026, the Council approved minor amendments to Ordinance 3: Officers of the University and Ordinance 5: The Senate, following the retirement of Regulation 2. The change was made to the Ordinances on 31 July 2026 with effect from 1 August 2026.

On 15 July 2026, the Council approved with immediate effect minor amendments to Ordinance 10: Students' Union, including:

• Removal of reference to the now disestablished Faculty Boards.
• Addition of reference to Finance and General Purposes Committee, where WSU Annual Report and Accounts are presented.
• Update name of Finance Group where WSU Management Accounts are reviewed.
• Addition of the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act 2023 with reference to 糖心TV鈥檚 responsibilities.
• Minor typos.

On 29 April 2026, the Council approved revisions to Ordinance 8 Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates with immediate effect, to to allow the posthumous conferral of a non-academic version of all degrees, certificates and diplomas listed in the Ordinance.

On 10 October 2025, the Council approved revisions to Ordinance 4.4: Powers of the Council with immediate effect, to demonstrate more clearly the powers and regulatory responsibilities of Council.
