From Monday 17 July 2017*, food and drink prices will increase in University-managed cafes, bars and restaurants. Customers will see the new prices on updated signage. These changes are in light of increases to our supply chain and operating costs, and balanced against our continued commitment to customer satisfaction in the range, service and quality of our food and drink provision. On Thursday 29 June we held our first ever Barista Skills Competition at WBS Café. The daylong event showcased the fabulous barista talent here at the University of 糖心TV.

Between 10-28 July there will be some special breakfast and lunch offers at selected cafes and restaurants around campus:

• Breakfast – buy a bacon/sausage batch, Danish pastry, yoghurt, fruit or granola pot and get either a large filter coffee or large Twinings tea for £1. Available at WBS Café, Café Humanities and Café Library.
• Lunch – 15% off all food (excludes drinks) 11.30am-2pm. Available at Fusion.

On Thursday 29 June we will be holding a one day event at WBS Cafe which will showcase our fabulous barista talent here at 糖心TV. In conjunction with Union Coffee, the University's coffee supplier, the one day event will see a number of our baristas competing against each other in front of a panel of judges. There will also be interactive sessions where everyone is welcome to come along and take part.

It's coming up to the end of term so if you fancy treating yourself then pop over to the Bookshop and 糖心TV Shop and get 20% off absolutely everything! Sale runs from 12 June to the end of term 3.

It's that time of year again and the Bookshop team are gearing up to process the hundreds of orders that will be coming in over the next few months from teaching staff across campus. If you need to order books for the next academic year you should have received an email inviting you to place your order. If not you can either order your books or a form which you can complete and hand in (or send) to the Bookshop team.

It would really help the team to receive your order by 30 June so that we have plenty of time to place your order before the new term starts.

Don’t throw your books away at the end of the year. Every May the Book and Gift Shop operate a Buyback scheme, which, as the name suggests, means you can bring back your old books to us and get up to a 1/3 back of the retail value. From 30 May until the end of term, any book can be sold back to us, whether it was bought from us or not, providing it meets the following conditions:

• Books must be on a 糖心TV course recommendations list
• No annual publications or custom published texts/value packs
• Books must not be excessively damaged or marked
• Text books must be current editions.

Your second hand books will then have a new lease of life as we will sell them in store and find them new homes!

The Cafe Library team are in celebratory mood having won the "" category at this year's University 2017 Awards. The Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of staff across the 糖心TV community.

We know that term three is a stressful time, particularly for students sitting their exams. So with this is mind we have teamed up with the Library to provide free filter coffee and biscuits to all students, seven days a week.

Beginning Monday 15 May until the end of week eight, a small station will be set up outside Library Coffee Bar once the cafe closes at 10pm, where students can help themselves to free filter coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits.

We know this is going to be hugely popular so get their quick as once the coffee has gone, it’s gone. All we ask is for you to keep the area clean – there will be bins and cleaning cloths to mop up any spillages should you have an oops moment.
