How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Getting the most out of SkillsForge - training session (PGR)

This session is for those who may have been using SkillsForge but are not sure of all its functionality or for those who may just want a refresher session. Book via on code = GS131

It will include:
  1. Finding your courses;
  2. Using the Development Needs Analysis;
  3. Recording your own activities - best practices;
  4. 300 word reporting;
  5. Recording and reflection.
These are taught sessions with time for Q and A and practice.
They will be held in computer rooms, so one computer per person.

Planning Your Publication Strategy: Journals (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences)

This session is for research students and staff who would like to find out more about the publication process.

 

By the end of the session you will have:

  • Investigated a range of ways to evaluate different scholarly journal titles and other trade publications in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences subject areas
  • Had an introduction to open access and what it means for journal publication
  •  Had a short introduction to alternative metrics and what they might mean for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences scholars
If you are new to academic publishing then it is recommended to attend ‘Planning your Publication Strategy: The Essentials’ session.
 
If you have attended the ‘Planning your Publication Strategy: The Essentials’ session please bring along the workbooks used in this session as you will be adding to them.
