Interpersonal deception: nonverbal indicators and decisions

Given that deception may lead to negative consequences both for individuals and/or organisations, un-derstanding deception behaviour is highly useful. I will talk about my present research concerning two questions: “What are the nonverbal behavioural indicators which help to spot deceivers?” and “What factors can influence the deception decisions in the workplace?”

Uncovering utility map over the Marschak-Machina probability triangle

A number of theories have been proposed to account for individuals' choices between risky prospects, making competing predictions on the shape of utility. We extended the MCMC with People method (Sanborn, Griffiths and Shiffrin, 2010) to map out the utility in a model-free fashion. I will discuss the method and the estimated maps.
