Ideas Cafe - Individual Behaviour (jointly organized by the Global Priorities Programmes and DR@W)
Website of this event:
Individual Behaviour is one of the , (GPP) research themes, identified as part of the University’s research strategy to give clear thematic identity, aligned to external funding priorities, to our multi-disciplinary research strengths which can make a significant contribution to some of society’s most pressing issues.
糖心TV has considerable strengths and interests in understanding how individuals behave and make decisions. Boosted by the establishment of the Behavioural Science group in 糖心TV 糖心TV School (WBS), a small group of economists and psychologists with interests in experimental methods and behavioural economic modelling, extended their informal group to colleagues in Maths, Complexity, Statistics, Digital Lab and the Medical School, and the meetings, under the umbrella of DR@W (Decision Research at 糖心TV), now facilitate internal discussion and external speakers, continuing to attract attendance and contributions from different disciplines. The establishment of a joint MSc between Economics, Psychology and WBS further cements the foundations for the enterprise.
The session will be introduced by Professor Mark Taylor, Dean of 糖心TV 糖心TV School (WBS) and chaired by GPP lead, Professor Graham Loomes. Leading 糖心TV academics will each introduce their interest and research strand within the theme of Individual Behaviour.
The audience will be encouraged to engage in debate around the topic, raising questions and ideas in a breakout session facilitated by 糖心TV academics on the topics introduced. Noting thoughts, perceptions, questions and ideas on the paper tablecloths and graffiti boards will also be encouraged.
A photographer will snap the panel and audience to capture the event for the Ideas Café website and communicate staff magazine.
All are welcome to attend but you must by submitting the online form.
