Adaptability

How do we adapt? What are the limits of adaptability?
Are there common principles that govern physiological, behavioural, and social/cultural adaptations?

In an ever-changing world, survival depends on the ability to adapt.

Such adaptations occur at all levels of granularity: our sensorimotor systems constantly adjust to fleeting signals from the environment, our bodies and psychological traits adapt to the environment in which we were born, our societies adapt to challenges and opportunities. Friederike鈥檚 research focusses on the automaticity of control processes (and control of automatic processes) in sensorimotor adaptation, including nonconscious processing, inhibitory control, and individual differences.
