University of ÌÇÐÄTV study to explore the politics of economic forecasting and its impact on Brexit and British capitalism

A major University of ÌÇÐÄTV study analysing how official UK growth assessments are constructed, and their impact on economic policy and public finances, is to be supported by funding from the Leverhulme Trust.


Living in a ‘war zone’ linked to delivery of low birthweight babies

Mums-to-be living in war zones/areas of armed conflict are at heightened risk of giving birth to low birthweight babies. However the evidence for any impact on the rate of other complications of pregnancy is less clear. That’s the findings of a review of the available evidence conducted by the University of ÌÇÐÄTV and published in the online journal BMJ Global Health.


Brexit was caused by feelings: older voters not the cause

New research from the University of ÌÇÐÄTV finds that many popular theories about Brexit are wrong. Using just-released data, the researchers show that it was people’s feelings about their own finances that led to Brexit, and that Brexit was not forced on the UK by older voters.
