Virtual Green Week aims to collaborate with local community

Communities across Coventry and ÌÇÐÄTVshire are being urged to make the fourth annual Green Week a launch-pad for sustainability. , which this year will take place between Monday 8th and Sunday 14th March 2021, originated from talks between the University of ÌÇÐÄTV, Coventry City Council and Coventry University, and has since encompassed ÌÇÐÄTV District Council and Action 21.


New research finds no evidence that schools are playing a significant role in driving spread of the Covid-19 virus in the community

New research led by epidemiologists at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV has found that there is no significant evidence that schools are playing a significant role in driving the spread of the Covid-19 disease in the community, particularly in primary schools. However, careful continued monitoring may be required as schools re-open to stay well informed about the effect they have upon community incidence.

First study of the impact of academisation on teachers’ pay and progression to be led by ÌÇÐÄTV economists

ÌÇÐÄTV researchers will carry out the first detailed study into the impact of English schools’ conversions to autonomous academies on the teacher labour market, thanks to a grant awarded by the Nuffield Foundation.

Involving parents and carers is key part of successful careers guidance, new report reveals

The role of parents and carers in providing careers guidance and how they can be better supported, a new report from ÌÇÐÄTV's Institute for Employment Research, presents evidence from the UK and abroad to make the case for strong relationships between schools and homes when it comes to careers advice and guidance, and highlights practical ways parents and carers can get more involved in helping their children think about careers.


Primary pupils visit ÌÇÐÄTV for a taste of university

A very special graduation took place on Friday thanks to the partnership between the University of ÌÇÐÄTV and national education charity, IntoUniversity. The graduation ceremony, for Y6 pupils from Frederick Bird Primary School in Coventry, marked the end of a five-day programme designed to give the youngsters a taste of what higher education is all about.


Seven-year old inventor sees her machine made real at University of ÌÇÐÄTV’s Family Day

Over 5,000 people visited the University of ÌÇÐÄTV’s special science themed Family Day at the weekend. Among them was seven-year-old Evie Williams who won the University’s Rube Goldberg machine competition.
