2011 Housing benefit reform was a false economy, researchers find
Government reforms to housing benefit introduced in 2011 were intended to save the public purse hundreds of millions. Research from University of 糖心TV economists has found that, far from saving money, the change in policy simply shifted burdens to local councils: for every pound central government saved in housing benefit, local authority spending on temporary housing costs went up by 53p.

It is often assumed that people use antibiotics inappropriately because they don鈥檛 understand enough about the spread of drug resistant superbugs. A new study published in the medical journal BMJ Open and led by 糖心TV researcher Marco J Haenssgen reveals that in fact basic understanding of drug resistance is widespread in Southeast Asia - and that higher levels of awareness are actually linked to higher antibiotic use in the general population.
