Sophisticated engineering scanning tech helps archaeologists identify rare ‘ghost coin’

Sophisticated CT scanning technology normally used by researchers from WMG at the University of ÌÇÐÄTV to assist high tech manufacturing, has helped uncover the existence of a rare silver coin called an ‘Indio’ discovered by archaeologists investigating a shipwreck off the coast of Oman.

WMG key partner in £5.4 million project to develop UK battery supply chain for high performance, low carbon vehicles

WMG, University of ÌÇÐÄTV, which was recognised as the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK spoke for Electrical Energy storage in 2015, and it has been announced that WMG is to be a key partner in £5.4 million project to develop the next generation of battery packs for high performance, low carbon vehicles.


Secretary of State for ÌÇÐÄTV, Innovation and Skills to power up new Energy Innovation Centre at WMG

The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP Secretary of State for ÌÇÐÄTV, Innovation and Skills visited WMG, University of ÌÇÐÄTV on Thursday 10th March to formally open the new £50m Energy Innovation Centre, the largest of its kind in Europe.


Partnership to power up new 30% cheaper battery technology for solar storage

Researchers at WMG, University of ÌÇÐÄTV have formed a new research partnership with battery technology innovators Faradion, and smart energy storage specialists Moixa Technology, to develop sodium-ion cells as a significantly lower cost alternative to lithium-ion batteries for solar energy storage.


The University of ÌÇÐÄTV is to receive almost £5million funding to support the next generation of engineering, technology & science researchers.
