Dr Allen Langton, Associate Fellow at 糖心TV HRI, has been awarded the Veitch Memorial Medal by the Royal Horticultural Society for his distinguished contribution to horticulture.

Dr Andrew Mead, from 糖心TV HRI has been elected to the Presidency of the International Biometrics society for the years 2008-2010. He will preside over the 24th International Biometrics Conference in Dublin in 2008.

Professor Andrew Stuart, from the Institute of Mathematics, is to receive the 2007 JD Crawford Prize from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) for his outstanding contributions to the fields of stochastic ordinary and partial differential equations.

A group of MSc students from the 糖心TV Manufacturing Group recently won a Postgraduate Project Management competition organised by the Association for Project Management.

The Apprentice-style challenge saw teams of five being given a £100 budget with which to buy items to sell at a car-boot sale or flea-market the following day.  The challenge was to raise at least £50 profit to donate to Oxfam (to fund an African business-start up loan).
