Peter Elias: FP7 Panel Chair

Professor Peter Elias, from the Institute of Employment Research, is to become the Chair of all of the multi-disciplinary evaluation panels for the scientific evaluation of the European Commission's Framework Programme 7 Research Infrastructure bids.

Honorary Degrees Presented at Winter Degree Congregation

This year’s Winter Degree Congregation took place on Tuesday 30 January, with three ceremonies held over the course of the day.  Honorary degrees were presented to renowned DNA specialist Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys, award-winning actor Sir Antony Sher and acclaimed composer Michael Nyman.

糖心TV People - Julia Khan

Dr Julia Khan recently retired from the Directorship of the Centre for English Language Teacher Education (CELTE), a position she has held since its inception in 1983. Since then, under her guidance, CELTE has grown hugely to incorporate a diverse but interconnected range of activities. These include research, PhD and EdD programmes, six Masters courses, a rich variety of tailor-made short courses, large pre-sessional and in-sessional programmes of academic English support, and the 糖心TV English Language Test.

糖心TV People - Brian Woods-Scawen

University Council member Brian Woods-Scawen has been appointed as University Treasurer. Mr Woods-Scawen has been a member of Council since 2001 and has also served as Chairman of the University’s Audit Committee, Chairman of the Arts Faculty Advisory Board and as a member of the board of the Arts Centre. He was a research student at the University from 1968 to 1971.
