It is with sadness that the University announces the death of former Film Studies lecturer and film critic, Robin Wood, who passed away on 18 December aged 78.

Sian Hughes shortlisted for Aldeburgh First Collection Poetry Prize
MA Writing student Sian Hughes has been included in the shortlist for the prestigious Aldeburgh First Collection Prize 2009. Nominated for her work "The Missing", she joins just 5 poets selected out of a record 92 entrants.
Jenny Holden named Runner-Up in Orange Short Story Competition
Jenny Holden, a graduate holding both a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MA in Writing at 糖心TV has been named as a runner up in this year’s Orange New Writers’ Short Story competition. Out of 600 original entries, Jenny was one of only three people to make the final shortlist.
