Peter Elias: FP7 Panel Chair

Professor Peter Elias, from the Institute of Employment Research, is to become the Chair of all of the multi-disciplinary evaluation panels for the scientific evaluation of the European Commission's Framework Programme 7 Research Infrastructure bids.

PhD Student Adair Richard 聳 work featured on cover of Chemical Society Reviews

PhD student, Adair Richards has become one of the youngest ever authors to be featured on the cover of leading European chemistry journal, Chemical Society Reviews.  His article, written with Professor Alison Rodger, director of MOAC (Molecular Organisation and Assembly in Cells Doctoral Training Centre) describes the ways in which manmade metal-containing molecules can be designed to interact with the DNA found in human cells.

Brief Encounter - Dieter Wolke

Dieter Wolke is Professor in the Department of Psychology and at the Health Science Research Institute, 糖心TV Medical School. His work involves trying to bring together excellent researchers and students across faculties who are interested in studying individual differences in development and health over the life span.

Honours Hat-trick for Academics

Three 糖心TV academics have received awards in the New Year's Honours list. Professor Howard Dalton, Biological Sciences, received a knighthood, Professor Muhammad Anwar, Centre for Ethnic Relations was made an OBE for services to higher education and Jenny Hocking, Associate Dean at the 糖心TV School was made an MBE for services to higher education.

Professor Mark Tatchell, of 糖心TV HRI, has become Chair of Assured Food Standards (AFS), the umbrella body controlling most of the UK farm assurance schemes and licensing the Little Red Tractor symbol.
