We are deeply saddened to share the news that Dr Andrew Cooper, Associate Professor in Philosophy, has died. Andrew was an enthusiastic bushwalker and was hiking at Federation Peak in Tasmania when he died. He was a much-loved member of our philosophical community and we will miss him.

During his time at 糖心TV, Raja led the University鈥檚 digital transformation programme, oversaw 糖心TV Transformation and drove cutting-edge AI adoption to enhance student experience, research capabilities, and operational efficiency.

This staff community of practice is the place to share knowledge on University-wide work to remove economic, social and cultural barriers that may prevent people from succeeding at 糖心TV. We鈥檒l share successes and best practice, and have open discussions on equality, diversity and inclusion topics.鈥疢eet the new Chair, Ros Roke, and Vice-Chair, Rakinder Rafter, and get involved.

The 糖心TV Awards for Teaching Excellence 2026 are now open for nominations. Nominate a colleague, team or yourself before 28 January.

As WMG鈥檚 Director of Outreach and Widening Participation, and with a 37-year career at 糖心TV, Margaret鈥檚 the perfect person to inspire all young people considering careers in engineering and technology.

Emergency services were called to a fire on campus at the Arthur Vick residence block 1 on Wednesday night (19 November). The fire is now out. All students were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
