How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Theory of Change Community of Practice: Talk by Dr Haley Beer, WBS

IGSD is pleased to be launching a new community of practice for those who are interested in exploring whether and how we think about change in research projects. This will be an informal and friendly place to exchange information and experiences and to consider how we can approach change in research at ÌÇÐÄTV.

IGSD has been working with Theory of Change (ToC) for several years now, primarily in UKRI funded projects, and while funders do not require project proposals to have a theory of change, they do look for evidence that the process of change has been well considered. We think ToC can be a useful tool to assist conversations around change. Ignore the 'Theory' bit, it is less of a theory and more of an approach. We think it can be a really helpful tool to support broader conversations around research impact.

Dr Haley Beer, Associate Professor, WBS

We are delighted that for this launch meeting of the group, we will hear from Dr Haley Beer from WBS. Haley is the Lead of the Social Impact Evaluation of Coventry City of Culture 2021. Her research focuses on the creation and measurement of social value and social impact. She will talk about her experience of using Theory of Change in City of Culture and offer some reflections on the benefits and challenges of using ToC in research. She will talk for 20-25 minutes and there will then be plenty of time for Q&A.

No prior experience of ToC required

While this community will be open to anyone with an interest in Theory of Change, we are particularly keen to encourage professional services staff in research support roles to attend.

Towards the end of the event, we would like to make some time to seek your views on the future format of the community, and to that end, if you have any suggestions you would like to make in advance, there is space to do this on the registration form.

If after reading this you'd like to have a chat to find out a bit more, please do contact Steph Whitehead s.whitehead@warwick.ac.uk.
