Profile

I am a teaching fellow in International Political Economy. I hold a PhD in Cultural Economy from King鈥檚 College London. Before joining PAIS I worked as a teaching assistant at King鈥檚, as well as a research assistant for the Policy Institute investigating freedom of expression in UK universities. I received an MSc from the London School of Economics in Contemporary Social Thought (Sociology).

Research

My research interests are in cultural and political economy, specifically concerning government-backed loans and market making practices in financialised economies. I draw on contemporary developments in the area of economic sociology to challenge current understandings of debt, the state and the market, particularly in the context of austerity governance. Additionally, I am currently working on broadening my research to include other forms of lending instruments, exploring their potential to offer alternatives to capitalism.
