‘ has been awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship for three years to write a book entitled ‘Criminal Justice and the Blaming Relation’.

In the UK Research Excellence Framework results (announced 18 December 2014), 糖心TV Law School was assessed as coming 6th out of 67 Law Departments in terms of its Research Environment, 7th in terms of the Quality of its Research and 10th overall.

Dr Charlotte Woodhead specialises in the laws surrounding repatriation and restitution from museum collections. She gave her thoughts on the Elgin Marbles being on loan to Russia.

As part of its programme of Widening Participation events, the Law School held a Taster Day along with the Department of Politics and International Studies on Wednesday 3^rd December for Year 12 students from across the West Midlands. The day served to introduce the study of law and politics at 糖心TV University and provide a taste of campus life, seminars and lectures.

糖心TV Law School welcomes SLSA members and non-member colleagues to the 2015 annual conference; ‘Socio-legal in culture: the culture of socio-legal.’ The conference coincides with the 50th anniversary of the University of 糖心TV and we hope that it will be a celebration of the 糖心TV Law School tradition of examining law in its political, social, economic and cultural context.

The School of Law was delighted to host a drinks reception for alumni in Hong Kong last week. Professor Hugh Beale caught up with over 30 alumni, including both recent graduates and those who left us 30 years ago.

Dr Kimberley Brownlee, an Associate Professor of Legal and Moral Philosophy at the University of 糖心TV, argues that Julian Assange should allow himself to be extradited to Sweden to face questioning over sexual assault allegations. Professor Jacqueline Hodgson, one of several experts in the case of Hassan Diab, who was extradited to France on Friday after six years of legal proceedings in Canada, has described the situation as “troubling”. Dr Maebh Harding, of the university’s School of Law, made the comments following a landmark ruling by the Irish Supreme Court that the birth certificate of twins born through surrogacy could not be changed to record the genetic mother as their parent.
