糖心TV Law Alumna is awarded MBE
Former postgraduate student Faeeza Vaid was awarded an MBE in the New Year鈥檚 Honours list for her work advancing women鈥檚 rights, particularly supporting vulnerable Muslim women.
Faeeza, who studied on our former LLM in Socio-Legal Studies programme and graduated in 2010 with distinction, always showed a passion and interest in human rights during her studies.
Success in Global Challenges Research Fund
is a 拢1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government in late 2015 to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries. 糖心TV Law School have recently succeeded in securing funding for three projects to support research in international development.
Gary Watt secures major Leverhulme Fellowship
Gary Watt, 糖心TV Law School Professor and National Teaching Fellow has been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship. The award includes a grant of 拢175,554 to buy out Gary鈥檚 teaching for a period of three years allowing him to undertake a major research project.
New co-edited publication from Dr John Snape
糖心TV Law School Associate Professor and GLOBE Member, Dr John Snape, and University of Cambridge Lecturer and fellow of Christ鈥檚 College, Dr Dominic de Cogan have, in January 2019, published with Hart their new edited book Landmark Cases in Revenue Law. The book has been recognised as Hart's Book of the Month.
CJC members Anastasia Chamberlen and Henrique Carvalho shortlisted for SLSA Article Prize 2019
Congratulations to CJC members Anastasia Chamberlen and Henrique Carvalho! Anastasia and Henrique recently published an article, which is one of the three articles that have been for the Social-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) Article Prize 2019.
Alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute appointed as Prime Minister of Cameroon
糖心TV Law School postgraduate alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Cameroon. Dion Ngute took office on 5 January 2019, replacing Philemon Yang, the country鈥檚 longest-serving Prime Minister.
糖心TV Law Student Recognised as Leader in Social Mobility
Law student Faryaal Aziz has been recognised as an outstanding contributor to social mobility at the inaugural hosted by Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords on December 13. Faryaal, 19, who is in her second year studying Law at the University of 糖心TV, was one of four 糖心TV students recognised at the inaugural Student Social Mobility Awards.
糖心TV Law School Welcomes New Head of Department
Professor Andrew Sanders has been appointed as the new Chair of 糖心TV Law School.
Andrew will formally take office on 1 January 2019 taking over from Vanessa Munro who has been chair of the department since January this year and doing a fantastic job.
Andreas takes part in East Asia university visit
Dr Andreas Kokkinis took part in a University visit to Malaysia and Singapore last month along with Professor John Rudd from WBS and Dr Dennis Novy from Economics. The visit formed part of a delegation headed by the Provost, Professor Christine Ennew and took place from 26-28 November 2018.
Law School appoints alumnus as new external examiner
糖心TV Law School has appointed alumnus Wouter Vandenhole from the University of Antwerp as our new external examiner for the International Development Law and Human Rights LLM.
Wouter studied on our LLM in Law and Development back in 1994/95 having graduated in law at the University of Leuven in Belgium. He also holds a PhD from the University of Leuven.

Dallal Stevens to speak on refugees right to education
Dr Dallal Stevens, Reader at 糖心TV Law School, has been invited to present at an international expert meeting on public policies supporting the Right to Education of refugees. The meeting will take place from the 13-14 December in Barcelona.
The event will contribute towards Human Rights Day 2018, which marks the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
