Shingai Dzumbira, who studied on our LLB 3 year degree from 2016-2019 has been elected as the President of the Student Union (SU) for the 2021/22 academic year. 鈥淚 am really excited. I have a rare opportunity to lead the trajectory of a charity organisation that exists to represent students. I think that鈥檚 what excites me most – being put in a place where I can impact the lives of students at the University of 糖心TV.鈥�

Former LLM student Saurabh Bagaria, who studied on our international Economic Law programme from 2007-2008 has written and published his first novel titled 鈥淢oney Gone鈥�. In this book, he combines creative writing and legal nuances to produce a work of legal fiction involving the current and relevant issues of money laundering and crypto-currency.

糖心TV alumna Madhu Mehra has been named in 100 Most Influential People in Gender Policy for 2021. Madhu who studied on our LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights (previously Law in Development) from 1991-1992, is now Head of Research and Training at Partners for Law in Development (PLD).

糖心TV Alumna Last Mafuba, who studied on our LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights from 2015-2016, was recently profiled by the BBC and the Coventry City of Culture Trust as a modern-day Lady Godiva. Last, along with thirteen others selected for their unique stories, are learning to ride horses so they can take part in an event to launch Coventry鈥檚 UK City of Culture year.

糖心TV alumna Yomi Adegoke who studied on our 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2014 has been mentioned in the . For the sixth year, the list is proving that youth is not wasted on the young. Yomi Adegoke is a British journalist who writes about the intersection of race, feminism and popular culture. 

Ben Twomey, who studied on our LLM in Advanced Legal Studies in 2015-2016 has recently been promoted to the position of Director of Policy and Research at the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS). The role involves leading campaigns for the charity in order to influence laws and policies that affect care-experienced children and young people. 

Nigel Priestley, senior partner at Huddersfield law firm Ridley & Hall and one of the UK鈥檚 most respected care and adoption specialist solicitors, has been named in the in which he has been awarded an MBE in recognition of his services to Children and Families.

This academic year, Dr Celine Tan celebrates 20 years since she enrolled on our LLM programme at 糖心TV Law School. She is now Director of Postgraduate Studies overseeing the LLM she remembers so fondly and working alongside her previous lecturers and professional services staff.

The University of 糖心TV is offering all 糖心TV alumni a 10% discount on their fees if they choose to study another full time degree with us.

The Law School is offering to top this up to 20% for 糖心TV graduates to study on our full time LLM programmes.

糖心TV alumnus Jake Schogger鈥檚 new book 鈥楾he Training Contract Handbook鈥� was published by City Career Series in July 2020.

The handbook offers a solid grounding in the legal, commercial and financial knowledge required for commercial law interviews and internships.

糖心TV alumnus (and former staff member) Professor Kenneth K. Mwenda was conferred upon the prestigious Presidential Insignia of Meritorious Achievement (PIMA) by the President of the Republic of Zambia, H.E. President Edgar C. Lungu.
