Spotlight on Research: Profiting from Disparity
In collaboration with the British Council, Dr Mohsen Al Attar, Associate Professor at ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, recently delivered a lecture entitled Profiting from Disparity at the Singaporean Arts House. The event was attended by a mix of academics, journalists, high school and university students plus familiar ÌÇÐÄTV alumni faces.
First ÌÇÐÄTV business forum explores international business & trade after brexit
Matt Western MP and West Midlands finance and industry leaders joined Dr Stephen Connelly and Dr Andreas Kokkinis from ÌÇÐÄTV Law School yesterday at the first University of ÌÇÐÄTV ÌÇÐÄTV Forum, a new initiative aiming to connect the University’s experts with the local business community.
Expert comment on Elon Musk
Commenting on the news that the US Securities and Exchange Commission has launched legal action against Elon Musk and Tesla, Dr Stephen Connelly, Associate Professor in ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, said: “The regulatory suit against Elon Musk is a reminder to all insiders of publicly listed corporations that their words can be price sensitive – that they can move and possibly distort markets."
Dr Stephen Connelly comments on major financial loss of Norwegian Trader
ÌÇÐÄTV Law School’s Dr Stephen Connelly has been asked for comment after a Norwegian trader blew a €114m hole in protections for European power derivatives market.
“The way in which a single energy trader managed to burn through the NASDAQ power exchange’s risk default fund raises wider questions about the role of exchanges in the post-2008 regulatory architecture.
Scottish Feminist Judgments Project exhibits in the Scottish Parliament
On 10 September 2018, the Scottish Feminist Judgments Project, co-ordinated by ÌÇÐÄTV Law School’s Vanessa Munro and Sharon Cowan and Chloë Kennedy from the University of Edinburgh, will be hosting an exhibition in the Scottish Parliament.

Christopher Bisping will deliver an evening talk at the in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday 26 July 2018 at 19:00. His talk will discuss ‘International commercial arbitration in an age of international commercial courts.’

Dr Andi Hoxhaj wins British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award 2018
Congratulations to Dr Andi Hoxhaj, Teaching Fellow in ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, who has won a British Academy Rising Star Engagement Award.
The prestigious award will support Dr Hoxhaj’s work on anti-corruption policy and the rule of law with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, the UK and the EU.
