The Journal of Common Market Studies has announced the winners of their Best Article Prize for 2019 as .

A new webinar on the challenges to policing in light of Covid-19 and the role of technology in responding to these challenges. This Webinar was hosted by Professor Jackie Hodgson who is co-director of the Centre for Operational Police Research.

Published in April 2020 by Oxford University Press, the focus of this book is the potentially radical and fundamental changes that are taking place within criminal justice in Britain and in France and the ways that these are driven by wider domestic, European or international concerns. This metamorphosis away from established values and practices is eroding what were once regarded as core rights and freedoms in the name of efficiency, security and justice to victims.

Despite the global pandemic, Law School colleagues have still continued with their research and exploring what they are passionate about. Here is a selection of some of the books they have published this year.

Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner has written a number of papers over recent months on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on commercial and consumer contracts, and how contract law might be affected beyond the current circumstances.

ÌÇÐÄTV Law School’s Professor Vanessa Munro and the Scottish Feminist Judgments Project launch their new podcast series this Thursday.

Sam Adelman and Abdul Paliwala’s new book ‘ will be published by Routledge on 14 August 2020.

The winners and commendees for the 2020 ÌÇÐÄTV Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) have been announced and the Law School's Dr Illan Wall is on the list. Congratulations Illan.

ÌÇÐÄTV Law School's Dr Stephen Connelly and Dr Celine Tan comment on the G20's non-deal on sovereign debt.

"The lack of new commitments and policy proposals for tackling the sovereign debt crisis in developing countries by the G20 is disappointing and will have widespread ramifications not only for the indebted countries but for the global community."

Dr Sharifah Sekalala, Associate Professor in ÌÇÐÄTV Law School, comments on the potential challenges of a local lockdown.

Dr Stephen Connelly and Dr Celine Tan are supporting civil society groups, led by Jubilee Debt Campaign UK and Oxfam GB, in proposing legislation in the UK that will have the effect of suspending debt owed to private creditors of countries eligible for the G20 Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI).

Assistant Professor Dr Laura Lammasniemi will be appearing on BBC Two’s A House Through Time on Tuesday 9 June at 21:00.
