Over 100 attendees participated in the 糖心TV Law School Public Lecture at USIU-Africa

糖心TV Law School, in collaboration with United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), hosted a successful public lecture last month in Nairobi, Kenya, that attracted over 100 students, academics, and legal professionals. The event provided a platform for insightful discussions on pressing legal and social issues, reinforcing 糖心TV鈥檚 commitment to global engagement and academic collaboration.

The public lecture featured distinguished speakers from 糖心TV Law School:

  • Dr. Jeremmy Okonjo, Assistant Professor of Law, delivered a thought-provoking talk on "Law and Technology: Challenges for Global South Development in the Digital Age."
  • Prof. Ann Stewart, Professor of Law, explored "Older People or Older Women and Men? Reflections on Gender & Ageism."
  • Caroline Rushingwa, International Liaison Lead, Africa, and Africa Chair, BUILA, presented on "Study Opportunities at the University of 糖心TV," highlighting the university鈥檚 commitment to supporting African students in higher education.

糖心TV Law School's Professor Ann Stewart shared:

鈥淚t was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to meet so many staff and students at USIU and to share my research on older women and men's rights in Africa and the challenges that ageing presents for policy makers. USIU offered us a wonderfully vibrant academic environment!鈥

Speaking on the success of the event, Caroline Rushingwa emphasised the importance of international collaborations in higher education:

A special acknowledgment was given to Terry Odhiambo, a 糖心TV PhD student, for her instrumental role in organising the lecture, demonstrating 糖心TV University鈥檚 dedication to empowering its student community to lead and foster international academic networks.

The public lecture was held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:40 PM at LT 7, SHSS, USIU-Africa, with both in-person and virtual attendance options.

This event marks another step in 糖心TV Law School鈥檚 commitment to engaging with the East African legal and academic community, paving the way for future collaborations and opportunities for students and scholars.
