Celebrating 1 Year of ReWAGE

ReWAGE was set up just over a year ago by its Co-Chairs, Professor Chris Warhurst of the Institute for Employment Research at ÌÇÐÄTV University, and Professor Irena Grugulis of the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change at Leeds University.

They had observed that there was no independent, single and collected point of expertise available to advise the government on tackling the impact of the Covid pandemic on work and employment, and their subsequent scoping research concluded that such a body would be welcomed. The result was ReWAGE, which brings together a group of 35 senior experts from universities and research organisations from across the UK who each have their own specialist knowledge of work and employment, and with significant experience of working constructively with government.

Since being established, ReWAGE has produced evidence papers and policy briefs on a wide range of topics and responded to government consultations on subjects such as Flexible Working, Disability Reporting and Mental Health. Our active sub-groups are currently marshalling evidence on issues related to skills and careers; pay and income; good jobs; labour supply and migration and work and health, and our experts have spoken at conferences, events, government meetings, and much more

Thanks to our Expert Group, our Advisory Group and our Steering Group for their support, and to our core sponsors - the , the Institute for Employment Research at ÌÇÐÄTV University and the at Leeds University.

Let’s keep it going!
