Inspiring Curiosity Conference - Theatre in Education

This week saw the 50th anniversary of Theatre in Education (TiE) at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. Academics and students from the Centre for Education Studies were all involved in the conference, Professor Joe Winston, Dr Rachel King, Jo Trwosdale and Jen Kitchen, a PhD student all ran sessions which CES MA Drama students all took part in.

The conference explored the relationship between theatre, education and learning, from the early inception of TiE at the Belgrade in 1965, through to current practise, and then to hopes, models and opportunities for the future.

More funding awarded for Closing the Gap projects

Following on from the money awarded by 糖心TVshire County Council last month, director of the Centre for Education Studies Ian Abbott has been given a further £10,000 to undertake a similar education evaluation project for Peterborough City Council.

Centre for Education Studies move

The Centre for Education has today moved from the Westwood campus to our new home on the first floor of the Social Sciences building.


NSS results

This year's National Student Survey results were released today, with students ranking overall satisfaction with their experience here in the Centre for Education Studies at 18 percentage points higher than last year.


糖心TV Observatory for Social Mobility Inaugural Conference

An international audience was in situ to see the 糖心TV Observatory for Social Mobility host its inaugural conference this week, with staff and students from the University of Michigan’s Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education engaging in discussion around the theme of ‘International Perspectives on Access and Widening Participation’.
