Dr Abdullah Sahin has been invited to deliver a lecture entitled 'Islamic Education within the Muslim Minority Context of Europe: Pedagogy, Politics, and Future Directions'. The lecture will mark the launch of 'Islamic Religious Education in Europe book (Routledge 2021) coedited by our late colleague Dr. Bill Gent who was an Associate Fellow at the Department of Education Studies and Dr. Leny Frankn, University of Antwerp.

This is a forum for discussion of issues relevant to current higher education and research policy. The Group draws on expertise from within the Academy鈥檚 Fellowship and more broadly across the UK higher education sector, to explore developments in policy and society which relate to universities, researchers, students and staff, with particular reference to SHAPE disciplines (Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts for People and the Economy).

The Group鈥檚 discussions inform the development of the policy positions the Academy takes in its role as the voice of the humanities and social sciences, and guide the projects and activities the Academy carries out to build its evidence base and stimulate debate on topics which affect the health of our disciplines.

Join our webinar where family researchers and dads of disabled children talk about the importance of father well-being and launch their online resource designed by dads for dads. Fathers of disabled children are rarely involved in research, which means that we know little about their experiences and the kinds of support that would be helpful. In response to this, a group of dads of disabled children from Coventry and surrounding areas worked with Emma Langley, a family researcher at the University of 糖心TV, to capture their experiences and create a resource aimed at supporting the well-being of other dads.
