Dr Christopher Strelluf’s expert comment has been featured in , , , and in a piece on the voice people use when they create TikToks, and how it may encourage the continued spread of those particular linguistic features.

Dr Strelluf also provided expert comment on stories about the likeability of English accents around the world. These were featured in , , and The Times (South Africa).

This year, WICAL will be held online (28th - 30th June 2021) and we look forward to welcoming even more scholars, presenters, and attendants from across the world. Our theme is ‘Crossing Boundaries’, so we welcome interdisciplinary topics in the area of Applied Linguistics.

Linguistics has moved up the rankings to 8th in the UK according to The Complete University Guide 2019 rankings. The University of ÌÇÐÄTV is ranked 9th this year, maintaining its record of having never finished outside of the UK’s top ten universities in this table.
