Viva Success: Congratulations to Elena Talavera Escribano

Congratulations to Elena Talavera Escribano (supervised by Dr Daniel Dauber and Dr Katharina Addington-Lefringhausen) who had her PhD viva on 4 November and passed with minor corrections. Her examiners were Professor Shlomo Tarba (University of Birmingham) and Professor Perry Hinton, and Elena鈥檚 thesis was entitled 鈥淨uantifying Scattered Images: A Novel Measurement Tool to Assess Their Impact on Employee Well-Being and Corporate Identity鈥.

Talk and Poetry Work shop

As part of the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences 2024, this will explore, in essence, how people manage their social connections through conversation. It will delve into how everyday conversations can hold deep personal meaning, shaping our social lives and the very essence of who we are. These seemingly ordinary conversations can be unfolded through poetry and drama-based activities, and the workshop will draw on the hosts' expertise to explore social interactions and poetic expression with the 'everyday conversationalists' who walk among us!

999 R.E.S.P.O.N.D Project Launch!

To mark World Trauma Day on 17 October, we are pleased to announce the launch of materials Link opens in a new windowfor the 999 Respond projects. The 999 R.E.S.P.O.N.D projects, led by Professor Jo Angouri Link opens in a new windowand in collaboration with (WAST), the (EMRTS), (WACT), and looks at the way in which the decision to dispatch a critical care team is made by the teams in the ambulance control rooms.
