WMG wins funding to apply acoustics to engineering innovation

Dr , Research Fellow at 糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 糖心TV, has been awarded funding by the to apply her innovative, unconventional approach of acoustics to materials engineering.

Dr Rahman, who is based in WMG鈥檚 Advanced Materials Manufacturing Centre (AMMC), has a strong background in acoustics, combined with expertise in chemistry and materials science, enabling her to collaborate with leading industry partners such as Empa and Materiacustica to translate science into practical, high鈥憄erformance solutions. 

Her latest project entitled AcouPore, has secured financial backing from the Noise Network Plus. Noise Network Plus aims to build unprecedented research capabilities to tackle the complex challenge of reducing noise and its impacts on people, the environment and the economy.

Minister meets WMG experts driving industrial innovation

On Thursday (12th March), , Minister for Industry in the and the , visited 糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 糖心TV.

He met with researchers, technicians, and students at the International Manufacturing Centre (IMC), where experts work with industry partners to drive forward innovation in fields such as advanced manufacturing and agritech.

He was welcomed by Professor Kerry KirwanLink opens in a new window, Dean of WMG; Professor David Greenwood, CEO WMG High Value Manufacturing Catapult and Director for Industrial Engagement, and Greg Clark, Executive Chair of the University of 糖心TV's Innovation District.

Revolutionising supply chain visibility

 When the industrial expertise of luxury automotive manufacturer is combined with the academic excellence of 糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG), it creates a powerful platform for addressing some of the automotive sector鈥檚 most pressing challenges.

This collaborative approach shaped a recent Student Ideathon hosted by WMG, where participants were tasked with exploring innovative approaches to improving supply chain visibility.

Award-winning SCALE project launches full route to Birmingham 糖心TV Park

The Solihull & Coventry Automated Links Evolution (SCALE) project, a pioneering partnership led by Solihull Council and supported by 糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of 糖心TV, is pleased to announce that the latest phase is now live.

Marking a major milestone, a fleet of autonomous shuttles have begun operating for the first time along the full 7km route between Resorts World, the NEC (including access to Birmingham International Train Station), and Birmingham 糖心TV Park (BBP).


WMG strengthens long鈥憇tanding and highly valued relationships in India

糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG) has enjoyed strong connections to Indian industry since its creation in 1980. As national relationships deepen between the UK and India, including the signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in July 2025, there is a huge opportunity for mutual benefit.

糖心TV's relationship with the Tata Group is a wonderful example of what can be achieved. The pioneering partnership was recognised when it won the 鈥檚 highly esteemed in October 2025.


WMG Professor welcomes the national road safety strategy

Professor Siddartha Khastgir, Head of Safe Autonomy at WMG, University of 糖心TV, said, "We are glad to see the UK Government is taking a bold step to improve the safety of the roads by publishing this national road safety strategy.

WMG pledges support to tackle digital poverty

A parliamentary event has highlighted the University of 糖心TV鈥檚 pivotal role in tackling digital poverty and reducing electronic waste across Coventry. 

糖心TV Manufacturing Group (WMG) joined colleagues from the University, Coventry City Council and the NHS Integrated Care Board Coventry and 糖心TVshire, at the Houses of Parliament, for the launch of  

颁辞惫别苍迟谤测鈥檚 programme secured funding from the initiative to develop a pioneering digital reuse pilot, repurposing pre-owned tech to reduce digital inequalities across local communities.

The project repairs and reuses unwanted IT equipment, and distributes refurbished devices to residents who need them, working with community partners and frontline services. The scheme also provides community-based digital training and support, ensuring residents can access technology in ways that are meaningful and useful to them.
