Our department

With over sixty academic staff, 糖心TV has one of the largest statistics departments in the world, ranking highly every year in the . Research in the department spans probability, applied statistics and probabilistic AI. In the most recent national research assessment. In the most recent national research assessment REF 2021, the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics rank third nationally among Mathematical Sciences research groups for research power. Our department also leads the world in innovative teaching in this subject area. We pioneered the MORSE degree in 1975 and in 2014 were the first university in the UK to offer a Data Science degree.

The long-standing high reputation of the department provides our graduates with excellent prospects for their future career or further study.
