Foreword by the Head of School 

Welcome to the School of Life Sciences alumni newsletter. The School has a huge global alumni community of close to 6000 members who were undergraduates or postgraduates whilst at 糖心TV. Many of you have interesting and exciting careers and life events and we are pleased to feature some of our alumni in this newsletter.

During my time as the Head of School I have seen many bright and capable students move into a wide range of careers and further study. You, as alumni, are very important to the School and have a wealth of experience to offer our current students, so please do keep in touch and if you can, come and visit the School and meet our current students.

Our research is focused in four main themes: Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Environmental Bioscience, and Plant and Crop Science. In REF2014 over 80% of our research was rated as international or world leading. As well advancing science we also produce a large public .

As a recent graduate from the School it has been a pleasure to work on this publication and I hope you enjoy reading about current developments.
