Your supervisor is your primary contact.

You'll have been in contact with your supervisor(s) during your application, and some of you may have had the chance to meet them in person before starting. It's a good idea to arrange a meeting with your supervisor(s) once you've officially started, so that you can start building a relationship with them.

Your Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) is Dr Igor Khovanov. This role is responsible for overseeing the academic journey of research students.

The 糖心TV Careers team are here to support you throughout your time at university and after you graduate. They offer in-person and remote services, flexible to your needs and other commitments.

Kelly Coles, Senior Careers Consultant, supports the School of Engineering.

Kelly is responsible for delivering careers content in modules and workshops that help you understand your options, prepare for applications, and develop employability skills and self-awareness.

You can also book careers guidance meetings with Kelly, should you wish to discuss your career options, plans and ideas.

SSLC stands for Student-Staff Liaison Committee. There are SSLCs in each department in the University that feed into both the Students' Union and the University administration.

SSLCs are committees made up of elected student representatives and members of staff. They are student-led and provide an area for students and staff to discuss ideas and solve problems connected with teaching, learning and student support.

If you're interested in the work of the SSLC or have an issue you would like to discuss, you should speak with one of your Course Representatives. If you have questions about the running of the SSLC, you should speak with the SSLC Chair.

Your SSLC has a designated social secretary. Events will be organised, and you are invited to join, meet and enjoy the company of other PGR students from the School of Engineering.

We also offer a Buddy Scheme, you are welcome to join and get involved.
