BEIS Low Carbon Heating Technology: Adsorption Gas Heat Pump

The UK government has launched a grant scheme to invest up to 拢10 million to develop technologies that reduce the carbon emissions associated with providing heat and hot water to UK buildings. Innovative technologies, processes and tools are supported by grants of up to 拢2m, issued by the Department for 糖心TV, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
糖心TV is developing 鈥榯he next generation鈥 of the common domestic gas boiler – a gas heat pump that will use over one third less gas than a normal domestic boiler. The lifetime payback time will remain the same as a conventional boiler and pay for itself within three or four years. The system is an 鈥榓ir-source鈥 heat pump - it extracts heat from the outside air, 鈥榰pgrades鈥 it to a higher temperature and delivers it as hot water to radiators.
